South Kaibab Icon

Watercolor and Acrylic on Paper - 20" x 26"

The South Kaibab Icon was painted after I returned from a hiking trip to the Grand Canyon. The South Kaibab Trail was the starting point for our South Rim to North Rim hike through the bottom of the canyon. That was the first time I had ever done that, and was not really prepared for the incredibly long and arduous (23 miles and eleven and a half hours) but ultimately very rewarding hike. The Canyon itself is an astonishing natural wonder which must be seen in person to be fully appreciated. But you could check out my travel section to get a little idea of what it's like!
