Living in south central Arizona, I've come to realize what an incredible environment is the Sonoran desert. Phoenix is at the northernmost extent of the desert, and you need only drive a half-hour north and the desert quickly turns into scrub brush and pinon pines. It is a very fragile, delicate environment, and this painting is an appreciation of its beauty. |
