Sea of Tranquility Icon
Watercolor and Acrylic on Paper - 20" x 26"
The Sea of Tranquility painting is kind of at the peak of my interest in metallic paint and mineral-type textures. There is a lot of gold, silver and copper metallic paints used. The pink horizontal areas were modeled after the texture and color of pink agate rocks, and the dark green areas are painted to resemble malachite. The paints catch the natural light from the windows and afford a measure of depth and reflectivity. |
