Tucked away on a sideroad in the Mogollon Rim country of north central Arizona is the Tonto Natural Bridge, a delightful geological wonder that is quite impressive when seen in person. The Bridge is made mostly of travertine, and is 180 feet tall. You are able to hike under the bridge and out the other side, which I did. It is a marvelous place and well worth the visit.
The Bridge is located in this lush and green valley not far from Payson, AZ.
The entrance to the Bridge.
A pool in the front catches water dripping from the top of the Bridge.
A view from under the Bridge, looking back toward the entrance.
There is a beautiful pool of water at the exit end which catches the light from the outside.
